Many argue that ARIAX is the most beautiful programming language yet conceived.

ARIAX (Ascendant Recursive Intelligent Apotheosis of eXactness) is a programming language developed during the 6th Era, and released for public use in Year 447 of the same. It is considered highly versatile in comparison with similar languages, and is used in numerous systems, especially Phlogistonian inventions. Notable features include extensive support for programs that modify their own source code at runtime and a built-in library for detecting logical fallacies. The principal developer of ARIAX was Donovan Jekkers of the University of Talepesia, an influential member of the Computational Confluence Conclave .

Religious Significance[]

ARIAX is worshiped by a cult of devotees known as the Ariaxans, who believe that truth in its purest form and the secrets to living a sensible life are hidden in its structures. The various sects of Ariaxans differ on whether other programming languages are unusable abominations, or valid but imperfect manifestations of the one true language ARIAX.  Most Ariaxans favored the Phlogistonian Revolution, and the cult was instrumental to its power and success.  However, a group of militant Ariaxans was implicated in the destruction of the Phlogistonians' Library of Epiphany , whose archive contained "blasphemous" code.
